I agree but he wouldn’t have been a long term solution whereas Sean Kelly could’ve been the guy for 20+ years.

Strief isn’t terrible but he just doesn’t have the powerful radio voice you’d expect from a PBP guy. He and Duece have decent chemistry but it seems at times that they are two color analysts in the booth.

Joel and Sean both have the powerful voice, vast experience calling PBP, and bring life to a broadcast (Myers is a HOF level guy IMO). I thought Sean would be the better fit bc
1. He could do it for the foreseeable future
2. He brings a level of wit in his broadcast that is very similar to Jim. When the Pels are playing well, you hear it in his voice. When the Pels are playing crappy, you hear it in his voice.

The second I think is the most important for a radio PBP. I prefer the radio PBP guy to be biased to his team and emotional bc I just feel it really gives the fan a great understanding of what they can’t see. Just have to prevent yourself from going late in his career Jim Hawthorne and super negative Nancy though I think that had something to do with him getting up in age
