My drain line on my carburetor leaked a fair amount of fuel last night. What would be the cause for this?

float is stuck. need to at the very least take it apart and clean the jets, but likely need to get a carb kit and do a full rebuild.
Had to do the same thing on mine last year.

Yep float stuck. Mine does it from time to time. I turn fuel off when sitting. Runs good so no rebuild right now

This is what i was planning on doing, I had read somewhere that the float was the "likely" issue. Don't want to do begin that project in the middle of hunting season.
What would cause the float to stick?

Gas with ethanol. Carb is likely full of white crusty shite. It doesn't take a long time. There are videos on youtube.

Taking the bowl and float off is an easy job. It'll take you longer to get the carb out. Take several pictures of everything during disassembly since it's your first time

Yeah, not a big job, but like you I don’t want to screw with right now.

Could be a few things. Typically it’s trash or the seat. When it’s the seat, which it is more times than not, all you can do is polish it. Then that’s a gamble.. Replaced two carbs in the last month for people because of seat issues because they didn’t want to take a gamble. Hollar if you need help or whatnot.

My fourtrax did this after sitting. I ran seafoam through it, and have been running it more, and the float sticking has gone away.
I still turn the fuel off and let it run till it dies.
ETA: A knock off new carb is like 80-100 bucks.

Seafoam is your friend.
Wait till tank is low. Add seafaorm and crank it to get in the carb them kill it and let it sit as long as you don't need it.
Fill with fresh gas and start her up. That will help tremendously with the carb.
