12M down is fine for streaming, assuming thats the only thing happening at the time. If you have other people trying to use the internet at the same time then you may have some issues.
Real question is usage cap.

I guess it depends on your family, but we watch probably at least 2 to 3 hours of tv per day (mostly nba, nfl and cfb) and we've never come close to the usage cap.
Was actually quite surprised when I checked our usage and saw we typically use only 30-40% of the cap
