Yeah have talked to HVAC guy. He brought up issues of fresh air intake, and gas fireplace I serfs having issues.

Haven't considered batts in exterior walls.

Sprayed in rock wool is 10x better. Also, it's fire and bug treated. 20+ years with it in my house never had a bug in it. Have the same in my attic. I haven't ran the AC or heater from the first of Oct. Just might have to fire up the heater today just to get the smell out the house.

Another thing, high ceilings. No less then 9'. This helps in cooling, but the down side. More work on the heater. Here in Louisiana, we cool 7+ months out the year, so that is the plus.
