How do y’all see this election going? Do you think that the socialist/liberals take control of your state? And if so is this a long term change or a temporary one?

Think Kemp was not the person Georgia should have hitched to, but I think he gets the narrow victory.

Agree. Kemp came out like a damn cartoon character.

Atlanta resident here. From the radio and anecdotes, lines many places are longer than in 2016. 538 gave a 2/3 probability of Kemp winning. It feels like a tossup, and more likely than not heading to a runoff (we have a libertarian on the ballot and if no one gets >50% that'll happen). I've got a tiny feeling Abrams wins, but it's just a hunch. Neither result would surprise.

Eventually, the left will take over the State of Georgia politics. ITs heading that way unfortunately. The major cities are growing at a fast rate.

I was saying earlier in the map thread, Donald Trump got a higher percentage of votes in San Fransisco than in Atlanta. Its pathetic

There are still some very good, family people in the state. Unfortunately, they are being "outnumbered" by the needy and will eventually be the minority

Kemp will win by at least 4 runoff or not.
And I can’t stand him. He’s a horrible candidate

“Double digit” days are done in GA. I predict a runoff with him ultimately winning.

The only hope for the right is a Hispanic conservative nominee. Kemp will probably be the last white male if elected.

It's absurd a southern state has a candidate for gun confiscation and it's this close.

and at the same time didn't realize she had to pay back her student loans. But yeah, let's put her in charge of the budget!

Holy shite.

Ive been confident in Kemp until today. Now i'm nervous. This much turnout concerns me, totally unpredictable at this point.

I will be very, very disappointed with my state if Abrams wins, disgusted in fact. The person that said it is because of the cities is correct, they are close to the point where their numbers are enough to overcome the rest of the state.
Oh well, I cast my one vote and my wife did the same, that's about all we can do besides pray.

I still have some hope that Gillum doesn't win down here.

It makes no sense to me because Deal did a great job and has one of the highest approval ratings for a governor in the country.

In March, Stacey Abrams filed a financial disclosure that showed she owed the Internal Revenue Service $54,052 in income taxes — $40,201 for 2015 and $13,851 for 2016. Abrams discussed it on multiple occasions, explaining that she prioritized her father’s cancer treatment over her quarterly taxes on self-employment income.

Abrams also has a decent amount of credit card debt. The financial disclosure form showed that she also owes a total of $77,522 for nine separate credit cards accounts: American Express, Capital One Bank, Citibank North America, Chase Card, Nordstrom, Sears, Sync, TD Bank, and Wells Fargo.

Despite earning a $95,000 salary at a law firm right out of college, Abrams’ “financial situation was fraught,” she wrote in an Op-Ed in Fortune. “Throughout college and beyond, I swiftly turned every credit card application into those magical slivers of plastic that allowed me to pay for daily necessities.”
