It's simple, just do what they say and you'll be fine

Step 1: Don't drown.
Step 2: See step 1.

Yep. Wasn't bad. It's a cool experience being dunked and having to swim out. Wouldn't want to do it for real though

Hopefully it's a warm day. Done mine in the summer both times...just like a nice day at the pool.

Don't be a bitch. It's not bad at all. Enjoy getting paid for riding a water rollercoaster.

This female has had to take it twice. My renewal is next year. It is not too bad.

It’s fun. My only advice is when you turn over, blow air out of your nose. You can’t pinch your nose because your hands are occupied and if you don’t blow air, your head will fill up with water.

Other than that, again, it’s fun.

Took it at MSTC years back when I was still upstream. The instructors were cool. Morning is class and paper test and afternoon is the water exercises. Just don't panic and it's easy-peazy. Just a tip though, avoid taking an aisle seat with a woman or the nervous guy at the window. They'll probably frick it up and then you'll have to scramble to find another egress.

I enjoyed it. Some people do panic, though, so watch out and try not to sit next to those guys. They go through the drill a few times in several situations.

I think first is right side up, with doors off to start, next is right side up, waiting for water pressure to equalize, then pushing doors off, next upside down waiting for the water pressure to equalize, then sitting in the middle, waiting on someone else to exit. The only one I was nervous about was the waiting on someone else to exit.

It only takes about 15 seconds, but your heart rate will go up naturally, which burns oxygen quicker, which makes you feel like you're about to run out of air.

You also do some stuff where you learn how to make a life vest out of your nomex, swim with nomex on, get in a life boat, etc.
