Correct. If you have only read the book, go ahead and watch the movie, it adds visuals to what you have already read.

If you have already seen the movie, don't bother reading the book. You won't gain any new insights to the story.

Nonsense. The movie left out the hitchiker, and more importantly the movie left out Sheriff Bell's WWII backstory. No Country is a great movie but the book is better.
