Who more than likely still care about a fraternity they are bound to for life, some may not but a lot of people take that seriously

Yeah somebody posted this news on a fraternity alumni group the other day. There were a lot of "glad we were in when it was still fun" and reminiscences about various hijinks. Little if any outrage or threats to pull their LSU donations. People move on.

I don't know, maybe to avoid $25 million lawsuits against LSU
I'm sure LSU would be fine if all those frats pulled up their stakes and left.
They could use all that space for campus housing.
