The reaction is exactly how my two year old reaction when I tell them no.


I worked in Downtown DC for a period of time and would often hang out at happy hours with friends near the hill. It was common to see senators either eating/drinking at the same place, or we'd see them in passing on the sidewalk.

More often than not, we'd say hello if the setting was appropriate. Most would stop and talk with you for a few minutes. Thad Cochran even joined us for a beverage.


The difference? We were polite, respectful, and dressed appropriately.
