The athletes that think this country is an oppressive shithole should ask Enes Kanter about the time his dad was held in Turkey and indicted as a tertorist...by his own people.
Or ask Son Heung-min about how his soccer career was nearly taken from him due to South Korea’s crazy military policy.
Or ask Jon Obi Mikel about the time he PLAYED IN A WORLD CUP ELIMINATION GAME KNOWING HIS FATHER HAD BEEN KIDNAPPED...by his own fellow nigerians...and didn’t mention a word of it until after the game due to fear that publicity could make things worse.
Or turn on the news and see what’s the latest in Haiti, Venezuela, Somalia, the Gaza strip, etc
Of course not everyone has it equal. We have a lot of work to do and a lot to fix. But this is the greatest nation on earth. Are people who share Eric’s sentiments going to take advantage of this and use it TO HELP THE CAUSE or are they just going to stay miserable and blame white people with horribly flawed and ingrained values from 400 years ago?
