That place was so depressing. Couple of college pals lived the pre-renovations. We were hitting a little boogah sugah off the desk in Kirby one night when that big NBA fight broke out that winded up in the stands.

Anyone recall the stabbing of 1976? LSU football player (who would have guessed) Rusty Domingue was feeling pretty high saturday night. He just blocked a field goal against No. 1 rated Nebraska ensuring a tie. Then he gets bombed (gets even higher) and stabs a student. Pleads guilty, does 6 months time, gets released, and quietly re enrolls at LSU. He stayed in Kirby Smith. With the added wisdom and insight that age brings, Rusty managed to stayed out of trouble. He sure could of used that insight and wisdom in the fall of 1976.

Rusty was in army ROTC. I was also. We talked a few times. I thought he was ok. Once there was an over night visiting of an army base. Rusty asked if he could visit his parents. With the LSU football program, he never got to go home.
