As others have stated, she is too liberal to be a Republican candidate. She would have a hard time appealing to the rust belt loyalists. Female candidates have an advantage with Democrats since they dominate the progressive agenda. With Republicans, you deal with a more traditionalist crowd.

Even Trump is not completely non-traditional. He is a career boss instead of a career politician. When you take into consideration big corporatist/small business division of the GOP, it is not of context for him to be popular.

More importantly, I think our first female president should be a standard politician and not wildcard like Trump. Trump's victory is significant because he was a new kind of executive. For most of US history, we have had male Presidents who had some form of political or military background.

The first female president (GOP or DEM) should probably stay closer to the traditional spectrum. The message that you send by only electing women who are debutantes or former models is that only their beauty matters rather than political acumen.
