I made some beans using Aaron Franklin’s recipe a few weeks ago and they turned out great. I did not have brisket, so I used smoked ham ends and pieces. I imagine you could adjust the seasonings to your liking.

Yes, the Aaron Franklin recipe is good. I've made it a few times. The beans I've been getting at some of these bbq joints are a little different though.

I used Franklin's recipe for a batch last night. They came out awesome. They were a little spicy, which is fine for me, but I'd probably scale back the chili powder for big crowds. I also should have added a little more water in the last hour or so of boiling as they almost dried out.
