Do y'all use them on certain songs?
If you want to play along with songs that use them, you almost have to. And if you don't, you'll have to barre a lot with your index finger.
I got a G7th early on and have been happy with it. I do get that it changes the feel - it's not just "moving" the nut - it changes the angle of the strings, effectively shortens the scale, etc. I would say pick a song you like that uses a capo. Get a lot of reps with that song and it may change the way you feel about it.

I see what y'all are talking about now.
I've used it playing "Bridge Over Troubled Water",3rd Fret Capo, and The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald",Capo 2nd Fret, and I can definitely hear the difference.
Thanks for all the input.
