Thanks for all the responses. Mediabridge finally called me back and my tunnel is up and running. Turns out that I was on the right track, but wasn't entering the correct IP information into my PPTP/L2TP client. I was entering web address and it needed the direct IP to connect.
The AC1200 does support native VPN tunneling, but requires a firmware patch for some services. Luckily, PIA is supported.
