Moving this thread over from the Score Board.

I started this same thread last year.

As someone who is known as a huge “neverO” or whatever, I’m more than happy to post and give props when it is due.

This team looked ready, and clearly responded to the challenge of playing a top ranked team the the same way we have in the past, and that was very exciting to see.

I was a little irked by the pregame altercation at first, that isn’t something that usually bodes well imo, but after seeing the ridiculous U staff and Willis going full U, I had a feeling they were going to be the ones that looked stupid as the game played out, and that was certainly the case (Willis played great though).

This defense looks like the old defenses we are used to seeing in BR. They just win the getting off the bus test. They look jacked and play fast and angry. Easy to see what Moffit was talking about with the conditioning. This is going to be very fun defense to watch this year and will get better as Fulton continued to get his feet under him.

It was fitting to see Rashard, DW, Greedy, and Delpit play on Sunday night because they are NFL stars stuck in college right now. Fehoko, Philips, Stevens and hopefully Fulton are the next stars on this team.

Please let Aranda be happy here for a while.

On offense, I said all along that Burrow was a program changing player. I honestly haven’t felt as confident in an LSU QB since Jamarcus was under center. The guy has all the tools and has clearly absorbed so much from three plus years of practicing and studying under Meyer. He is going to change this culture in the next two years (hopefully) and it is the most exciting and important addition to this program since Saban arrived to wake the sleeping giant imo.

I also said all along that E would play things close to the vest against this defense, and he absolutely should have and for the most part did. We actually threw more early than I thought we would, but they were easy throws and Burrow was putting the ball on the money all night even when getting hit.

The OL settled down despite playing an impressive DL, and E moved the pocket and allowed Burrow to use his mobility to neutralize the rush.

Brossette was an absolute surprise and I’m so happy for this kid. He deserved last night and he stepped up tune and again once we turned to him. Curry clearly isn’t ready yet and I was a bit surprised to see him so much early on, and CEH needs more run as well. But overall very happy with the backfield.

Not trying to downplay this great win, because it was awesome, but I was adamant that Miami was overrated and I do think that was true. Their offense was never any serious threat to this D and that wasn’t a surprise. Their D is solid but again, as long as we didn’t turn the ball over, I felt like we’d wear them down.

Welcome aboard Cole Tracy! He will win a game for us this year no doubt. Good get O.

Interested to see where we move up to in the polls. I’m thinking 12 with Auburn moving up to 6 or so. Will make for a great showdown in two weeks.

I think Auburn is similar to Miami. Very good front seven but an offense that doesn’t particularly scare me, although Stidham is head and shoulders better than Rozier.

I’ve said all along at Auburn would be our toughest game outside of Alabama, so it will be a very telling test to see how we perform there.

Going 2-2 against the big four puts us right on track for 10-2 and the NY6 Bowl, and starting off 1-0 was a huge step in accomplishing that.

We may even have bigger goals in store, but let’s take it one step at a time.

And finally, Burrow’s postgame interview was fricking legendary. Said what the “negas” have been saying all along. This is NOT a 5,6,7 win team. This team should be, like, REALLY GOOD.

Anyone accepting or expecting less than a REALLY GOOD year was just setting a low bar for whatever reason. This team is loaded and primed for great things. All they needed was a staff to put it together.

Last night, they certainly did that and more.

GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

Give me a UGA team that lost a ton of talent to the NFL in Tiger Stadium over a top 10 Auburn team in Jordan Hare every single time.

UGA is good but no one is talking about how much they lost and just assume they are going to reload. Kirby hasn’t proven that yet.

Auburn brings a scary D back and a better QB imo. Gus has a proven system to replace Kerryon while UGA lost two NFL studs in their backfield and a generational talent in Roquan.

I think Auburn beats UGA again this year and will be our toughest game outside of Alabama.
