I’ll give it a go.
The current space mission isn’t only conducted by the Air Force. The probably only cover about 60% at best. The Navy also has a large responsibility in space as does the Army. There’s a lot of overlap between a lot of people who don’t speak to each other very often. I would imagine the focus of effort is also very diluted. A Space Force is long overdue. It will, hopefully, produce a continuity of effort and focus and free up the other services to focus on their own missions. In the short term, yes, it’s possible that not much changes other than the color of the uniform. But in the long run this will be good for defense and our military’s capabilities and lead to a lot of new technologies that will hopefully benefit the private sector as well.

Good points, i'm not saying that a Space Force wouldn't be a benefit i just don't think that suddenly thousands of new recruits will be accepted to start a new branch, just that initially they will come from those already working space missions. Now convincing the army and navy to give up control of missions to a new group might take some effort.
