the GOP has been a loose collection of national interest groups for a while, surely since the Tea Party (at the latest)
you have the libertarian types, the rich/business types, the religious/social conservatives, the suburban crowd, etc
those different groups still exist. Trump just carved a new path (by being DEM-lite) and it's unlikely anyone can follow his lead moving forward
