This is one reason why a parliamentary system would benefit people at large. The Democrats have been a collection of sometimes competing interests since the New Deal coalition. It would be more beneficial to everyone, in my view, in a country as diverse and dispersed as America, to move to a parliamentary system. That way coalitions can be up for grabs, and not historically determined, as has been the case for large blocks of Dem voters.

i think a Parliamentary system would be supremely beneficial for the right in the US

until 2016 the DEMs were pretty consistent in terms of supporting the party. this fracturing is recent and will likely pass for moderation

the GOP is the one who has had problems since 2004 or so rallying national support (Trump is an extreme outlier). allowing coalitions would benefit the right greatly and they'd have a much better shot at the executive via PM
