Has there been a claim that the woman fell out of the boat? Otherwise the first two items in the above list do not go along with the third.

If the swim was voluntary, why would they have "normal" clothes on? If I'm out on a boat with a lady friend and decide to take a swim, the most I would be wearing would be a swimsuit or underwear, neither of which would hinder swimming very much.
