Couldn't agreee more... The only way to know what you are getting and be able to avoid problems such as hip displacia, bad elbows, shoulders and possible eye problems
Make sure bitch and sire are CERF and OFA and generations as far up the pedigree as possible

I lucked out and got a great dog (Lab/GSD), but not all mutts are winners.
Next dog will probably be a purebred GSD, so definitely interested in this thread.
