Al.com had Fairhope the fastest growing city in the state recently. Houses avaliable are few and far between and have increased in price at a high rate the last 3-4 years. You can always find the cookie cutter subdivision houses west of 98
The advantage of Spanish Fort is the commute to Mobile (even pensacola) for much more availability of jobs. Also, if you're looking for an even more laid back pace, check out Magnolia Springs with a quicker trip to the beach and the riveria down that way
