For how shite the Marlins have been, they've always had elite players. Miguel cabrera and Hanley Ramirez were legit top 3 players with the Fish. Hard to believe this team had Giancarlo Stanton, Marcel Ozuna, Dee Gordon, JT Realmuto, Christian Yelich and Jose Fernandez on the same team. Six all stars and couldn't win anything.

They have two world series title in 25ish years. Winning wasn't an issue. Baseball fans follow players. They keep up with stats in minor leagues. Follow the draft. If you just buy the bulk of your team in free agency, it is hard to develop a devoted fanbase. It didnt help that Loria would fire sale every few years, too.
