Had an 09 Macbook Pro that ran better than new (SSD and RAM upgrades) up until I spilled coffee on it last October 
. Brought to the apple store the day it happened and the tech said he was shocked it would even turn on. It finally stopped working completely about a week or two later.
Getting over 8 years out of a laptop impressed the hell out of me. And I used that thing a TON.
