Ree, I’m not harping on last year any more.
These aren’t issues this year.
Kirby Smart had UGA in the NCG last year, in his second year, after having similar issues in his first.
No more fricking excuses.

What changed?
Last year LSU had a D-lineman who played every snap on defense in a game.
Are you saying Eaux has done such a good job that you now demand a 10-2 record or you consider the season a failure?
Posted on 6/24/18 at 11:31 pm to Tiger Ree
I’m saying O has done a good job shoring up the thin areas, yes.
And I’m saying this isn’t 2017. Smart went 8-5 his first year because of the same issues.
10-2 is a reasonable expectation.

Nice edit.
And did Kirby have to play a defensive lineman every snap of a game during his great season?
Did Kirby have to play over 30 true and RS freshmen in his first year?
Georgia fans hated Kirby after his first season in the SEC EAST.

And you’re complaining because LSU fans aren’t sold on O because of his first full season.
Georgia fans are sold on Kirby now.
If O wins the SEC (or even goes 10-2) this year, you’ll see the same thing here. See how that works?

These negators are not Lsu fans

My asking if Kirby had to have a defensive lineman every snap of a game because of lack of depth is complaining to you? If so, I guess I am complaining.

Will they when Georgia winds up in the NCAA doghouse? Bama had the #1 recruiting class 2011-2016. Kirby was there the whole time, he left for Georgia and now Georgia has record setting classes. Is something going on or did recruits know that Kirby was some GREAT coach that was destined for greatness???
The funny thing is that Bama can't report Georgia because he was at Bama during all those years of great classes.

Are you serious Clark? I can see the posts now of how many teams replaced coaches, their records, final rankings, etc, etc, etc. Your ilk will never be happy no matter what happens.

Your bias is showing.
I don’t care who is coach, I want LSU to succeed. I still think LSU is an elite program and should be competing for championships.
Edit: shame on you if you’re trying to lower the bar and make excuses based on who is coach.

Why don't you tell us? You seem to have it all figured out.

Good for you. This if from last season.
LSU without two key defensive reserves against Ole Miss in Ed Alexander and Michael Divinity
quote:
Depth is a lingering issue for the Tigers this season. At one point during LSU's loss at Mississippi State, Orgeron had four defensive linemen available for three D-line positions. The depth problems are preventing a deep rotation or any rotation at all
quote:
Earlier this season, defensive end Christian LaCouture played every snap of a game. Starting defensive end Rashard Lawrence missed three of the first five games with an ankle injury, and a broken finger prevented Alexander from playing in two games.
quote:
Frank Herron missed the first six games of the year because of a presumed half-season suspension. He returned last week against Auburn, playing about 15 snaps. Senior Deondre Clark and freshman Neil Farrell rarely rotate.
I am glad that you think Eaux is such a great coach that he could go from NO depth on the defensive or offensive lines to competing for championships the very next year.

Two true freshmen having to start on the O-line. No depth on the D-line. Doesn't matter who the coach is. Even the GREAT Kirby would have trouble winning the SEC EAST having to deal with that.

So before last week, the small band of negative, miserable fans were complaining about last class with no CB's, Lack of stars, and class ranking.
They get all that and then some, but now complain because people are pointing that out and still optimistic about the last class and this class taking shape.
Some of you just can't make it a day without btching about something.

For Bama it was a Dodge dealership, clothes store, etc. Haven't seen pictures of Georgia players on instagram showing their stacks of cash and new cars yet.

You talk like LSU was bereft of talent. Nobody said this prior to Troy and MSU. The depth wasn’t so much of an issue that the team couldn’t compete.
You can try to make 2017 look like O was facing an apocalyptic lack of talent/depth all you want to, but the fact is it was not catastrophic as you portray.

“Had four defense lineman available”
Remind me again who on the LSU staff was the D line coach in 2015, the D line coach/recruiting coordinator in 2016, the intern coach in 2016, and the head coach in 2017??
It’s amusing how some want to give Coach O a complete pass on what one would assume to be one of his main responsibilities since 2015......recruiting DL guys.
What ever the case, it appears at this time that we’re having some good fortune in the recruiting process. Sounds good to me.

10-2 buddy. That’s the mark this year.

I posted articles stating what happened. Do you dispute anything that was reported? What I posted was defense only. There were also players missing on offense.

Did I say LSU having a D-ineman having to play every defensive snap was catastrophic? Did I say that only having 4 defensive linemen available during the MS St game was a bad thing?
You can read into what I post however you want. It is all about perception and bias versus FACT. If you are upset by FACT, that is your problem.

The guy that was hired in 2015? The guy who was recruiting coordinator for a matter of months? The guy who had to get the head coaches approval to increase depth on the D-line?

It's more amusing that idiots think a D-line coach can dictate to the head coach what players are signed by a college team. The O-line coach may have had a different idea than both the HC and D-line coach.
