What are you even talking about here? When would they "offer him the max"? His contract was through this season. Why would they have talked about the contract that they were going to offer him while he was still under contract? Extensions don't really make sense unless it's a DPE or an extension off of a rookie contract, and he doesn't qualify for either of those.
