I've been wanting to try some golf in Tunica...anybody been there? Are the courses/ casinos comparable to the Gulf Coast? Thanks.

I played Cottnwood (I think that’s the name) about 10 years ago and remember it being pretty nice. It was a scramble and I remember the wind being legit 40MPH so I didn’t pay too much attention to the layout.

Cottonwoods was a really solid course. It closed when they closed the Harrahs. Tunica National is a good course. A ton of water and sand though.

Golf in Tunica is terrible. Tunica National is a joke. Only good thing about that place is Buck Matheny

Tunica National is hard as hell when the wind is whipping. I think a links style course up there is called River Bend( maybe a Harrahs course ?) that we used to play as well. Didn’t know Cottonwood had closed ? It was a fun course

Tunica National and a Links course about 5 minutes down the road are the only 2 I’ve played. The Links course was super easy. Tunica National was pretty open which allowed you to pretty much swing away.

No one that has played golf for any amount of time would say Tunica National was pretty open. 3-4 holes give you some room to miss it. After that, water and cotton fields.

Maybe I’m misremembering as it was 4 years ago. My home course is Calvert, which is very tight and in the middle of a pine forest. I don’t remember there being much trouble at all. I remember hitting over water, but that’s not a big deal to me. Water running down the length of the fairway is more of a personal problem than just having to carry water.

There is not many places to miss at Tunica National. Traps from fairways to greens makes tee shots hard as hell
