re: Any of you military guys ever been under enemy fire and have stories about it?

I was friends with a lot of the Seabees that were in Public Works where I was stationed. A couple of guys were open about what they experienced during their deployments in Afghanistan and some only talked about it when they were really drunk. They experienced things such being fired at while on construction sites, convoys being attacked, seeing vehicles blown up by IEDs.

My best friend out of the group was bothered most by seeing dead kids, either blown up or shot up. He only opened up to me about that once when we were drinking together at his house. From what his wife said he did have issues from his experiences. A lot of nights she would stay up awake with him because he was having terrible nightmares.
