ISPs getting a critical mass of content is worse. AT&T just bought Time Warner, which includes HBO, Comcast would own NBC/Fox and majority control of Hulu. They'd either throttle competitors like NetFlix/YouTube/etc to give their own competing services a leg up, or they'd shake Netflix and Google down. Prices going up for consumers to pay these hidden taxes would be the end result. I saw an article this morning suggesting Google and Netflix needed to get into the ISP game just to have leverage to avoid a shake down.
