I guess that depends which sport views a national championship as most prestigious.

No question basketball. Comparing the two recruiting classes, Will Wade has outshined Orgeron for sure. Plus Will Wade is a better coach in his respective sport than Orgeron. I actually think the pressure is greater on Orgeron to win than it is on Wade. Football is the cash cow, if football isn’t successful the entire sports program will suffer.

Considering where we were when Jones left, we got an NIT bid and are projected a 5th seed this year in the big dance.. I’d say basketball

Depends on what defines a better season.

If basketball makes the tournament, it will be more exciting. And Football makes a New Year’s Day bowl, it will be considered a failed season, but technically that would be about even. Both making the post season without a championship of any kind.

I think they’ll have about the same seasons.
Basketball will probably make the tournament, possibly win a game, maybe two at the most.
Football will probably go 8-4/ 9-3 and make a New Years Day bowl and possibly win it.

Both will contribute to the next season being even better.

I call a draw. One will be more exciting than the other, that’s it.
