Anything you love that becomes a job, particularly one depending on ratings comes with stress.

It could be he felt he was just tapped out.

Well he definitely had a bitter persona. It’s not surprising honestly.

He's talked about his own mortality before. I'm not saying that it's impossible for him to be stressed out. But I never got the vibe throughout his tv career that he was worried about ratings. In some cases, it seemed like he had the "Larry David slip" with CNN & Travel Channel.
