Good fences make good neighbors

Go talk with him. He might take care of it anyway. I would.
Recently, a tree from my yard fell into my neighbor's. Took out a section of the fence he built and some minor damage to his tree.
I apologized and had a tree service out within 3-4 hours. Offered money for fence and any yard repairs. Apologized again.
He charged me 20 bucks for material and repairs the fence himself.
Go talk to your neighbor. It is unAmerician not too. Don't look to the government/law to solve a problem.

Honestly, I wouldn't even consider ruining my relationship with my neighbor over such shite. just go get a fence panel and a 12 pack and work with your neighbor to fix the damn fence.
This. I assume it is a wooden fence. I'm the exact opposite of handy and this can be done pretty easily
