No because he was under contract and Cleveland had no pieces worth a crap to trade. He didn’t sign with Houston and has been eligible to sign an extension since December and hasn’t

Unless the Clippers didn’t want what Cleveland could/would offer in that trade. I mean, the only positive assets on the team at that moment were Love and Kyrie (pretty sure that was prior to the trade demand). Houston gave back players on decent contracts.
I’m not saying that is what happened, but you can’t always just choose where you’re traded to.
