Of course the Chemical Industry did not forward a short list of candidates to the governor, either through formal or informal channels.....they would NEVER do that.

People, don't be so silly. Pilots are looking out for their best interest and CERTAINLY the chemical industry is looking out for their. To be believe anything else is stupid.

Chemical industry has more cash to influence its side. Anyone ever compare the number of lobbyist each side has and their respective budgets? Don't think for one second that both sides use the press to influence their sides of the story. Funny how people react to what is written or report without thinking it all through.

I have a skin in both sides of this fight. BOTH sides do quite well financially. Pilots make a bunch of cash and still largely controlled by who you know. Chemical industry makes much more cash and would sacrifice safety for a few bucks.
