Prom rules have been around at Catholic schools for years. I don't see why this is suddenly some big deal. I understand the outrage if the school isn't outlining specific rules and then making girls wear a poncho.. but if they have rules, follow them or don't attend. On a related note, I visit schools in other states for my job and almost all of the high schools I visit are free dress and pretty much have zero dress code. The kids are smart and well-behaved and the dress code is no problem at all. I even asked about it one time when many of the girls were in shirts that showed some midriff, and the employee laughed and said "You should see Halloween.." but went on to say they mostly have no problems. Catholic schools can do whatever the hell they want, so they're kinda exempt from this, but I think more public schools could take note. I think some public schools are damned near suffocating for both the parents and the kids.
I agree completely. Especially the suffocating part.
