Anybody know the clearance under the bridge? Wanting to access the Gulf for fishing and the closest launch is upstream of the bridge.

Launching at library in GC? Been under it in a 27 wc with no problems but it also opens when needed so height shouldn’t be an issue.

Which bridge? The one over 90?

WTF? Closest to where?
Launch in Lake Arthur area and run south. If you are south of LA, I cannot remotely imagine you asking this question other than you are extremely inexperienced and should not be running out into the gulf.
"Launching" also tells me you are trailering. Dude, be careful, uoude be better off spending 25 more minutes trailering than running early in waters you aren't familiar with.

I assume he means the closest to "gulf" which is Grand Chenier launch. The bridge he refers to is HWY 82. Only a mile or two to the gulf. Would not make much sense to launch in Lake Arthur, 20 miles from gulf.

Unless he lives near there, or further north and/or east. Grand Chanier is a decent haul from that area, making a 20 mile run easy.
I've done it from my LA camp too many times to count, but it definitely depends on you boat and cruising speed. We could run over 40 to 50 mph in those slick waters AND we knew what we were doing (directions, etc)
So, the boat we are talking about means everything, but being it's a tailored boat, I'm thinking it has decent range and speed.

Whatever you are trailering will fit under the bridge.

Yes, launching in GC. Was wondering about the Hwy 82 bridge.

Not sure what kind of boat but it can be a beotch loading at libary. There is often a flotilla tied up under bridge illegally so watch for them coming back in.
