Didn't know this but this is the first ever holographic album.

It's pretty amazing actually, I have to get one

In the unboxing video above, you can see exactly how the whole thing works, with a special card providing instructions on how to access the feature via a prism, included in the boxset. The prism, when placed on a smartphone, generates a holographic accompaniment to the album.

In all, the hologram tells the story through a young girl’s eyes that plays out over the disc’s 12 songs. A visual sample of the hologram imagery can be viewed in the unboxing player above.

If they did this sort of thing for the APC album, I can only imagine what kind of cool shite they'll come up with for the next Tool album. Adam seems to like pushing the envelope as best he can with their album packaging. I think he was the driving force behind the lenticular Aenima album and the stereoscopic 10K Days album packaging.
