Wrong. The op clearly stated mainstream media.

I understand your argument, but it is wrong. For example, just think about Fox News and Brietbart, which are biased toward conservative/right-wing points of view. These are media organizations, hence part of "the media." Thus, "the media" cannot be monolithic. Rather, they are multifaceted and pluralistic.

And don't even try to float the argument that Fox News is not "mainstream." It is probably the most "mainstream" media organization out there, given that it is the most popular cable television outlet in America.

Brietbart is not mainstream but it is still part of "the media." Its influence on other media organizations is also growing.

That may have been true about Fox News in prior years but it is much more of an unknown variable nowadays. Breitbart is hardly consider mainstream.

What exactly are you trying to argue? Some red herring-esque irrelevancy?

Wrong. The so called "mainstream media" refers to Fox News and Brietbart as right wing media.
