Many people have offered good advice. I have been on, off and back on the meds.

I was on them the first time for probably a little less than a year, got completely off them, anxiety came ROARING back. I tried to fight it off by getting addicted to exercise, but eventually had to get back on.

Haven't been off since, been probably over a year now, can't remember. I advise staying on them. At least until you feel stable again. And then, go to your doctor, talk through how you have been doing, and tell him you'd like to try and get off. HE will advise a taper plan. Having said that, I might advise tapering even SLOWER than he suggests. Typically they will half your mg's every week or two.

I say if you're on like 40 mg of something, go down to 30 for a month. Then 20 for month. Then 10 for a month, til you're finally taking nothing.
