777, i used to ride commercial many times per month. I always thought the MD-80s took off at a steeper angle than other planes like the 737,757 and 777. Was i right?

If you were flying out of John Wayne, it wasn't your imagination. There was some kind of noise abatement program in place and planes took off at steeper angles than typical and then would throttle down as they left airport property. Also no take offs before a certain time in the A.M. (0700, I think) and no late night departures or landings (maybe 2230 or 2300).

max deck angle of 25 degrees for all of those, when they came out 727(highly susceptible to windshear,) and the old 737 100/200s had a bit of a power/weight issue, different first stage climb profile so it looked like the 80s were heaven bound, plus the extended length enhanced that, vector was still about half of the deck angle
