Several have asked this and it amuses me because THIS is a generational question.

I would venture to say most males my age had that kind of money when we were 14.

I cut yards and at the time, the going rate was $10-20 depending on the size of the yard. I'd save that kind of money every summer starting around age 11 until I could get a real job. I averaged about 8 yards a week.

One of the richest people I know personally got rich..........cutting grass.....which led to buying a truck.......which led to hiring other grass cutters.........which led to buying a local nursery........to landscaping jobs........to a chain of nurseries..........to selling them all and retiring at 35.
