LSU ranked #14 in weekly poll
1 Washington
2 Oklahoma
3 Oregon
4 UCLA
5 Georgia
6 Florida
7 Arizona State
8 Auburn
9 Texas A&M
10 Tennessee
11 South Carolina
12 Arizona
13 Florida State
14 LSU
15 Alabama
16 Baylor
17 Michigan
18 Long Beach State
19. Arkansas
20 Kentucky
21 Louisana
22 Ohio State
23 Mississippi State
24 Texas State
25 California
Despite a rough series with Ole Miss, LSU softball remains at #14 in latest poll. LSU managed to win a marathon first game that went a record innings, won the second game, but dropped the third game Sunday. Tennessee, who dropped two games in their series with #8 Auburn, surprisingly remained in the top ten.
LSU faces Tennessee next. While many look at Tennessee's main problem as being their pitching, teams who beat Tennessee have to score more than one or two runs to beat them. Tennessee is a swing away team with probably the second or third best offense in the SEC.
LSU's struggles are mostly offensive.
Though Tennessee has struggled with pitching consistency, Moss, who was not healthy in recent games, is slowing picking up velocity in her pitches as she heals.
Offensively, Aubrey Leach is possibly the best second baseman in college softball. Her batting average hovers around the .450 mark, and her on base percentage is ridiculous. Holcomb follows Leach, batting second, and is also above the .400 mark, as is the third batter, Gregg, who routinely finishes above .400 with 15 or so homeruns each year.
Lsu will have to score runs to win, more than one or two. Hopefully, Springfield will be able to play this week.
Going to be a great series and a true measuring stick for the LSU softball team. First game is Friday.

Despite LSU already sweeping Auburn, have a better overall record, a better SEC record, they are 6 spots above us. The disrespect is astonishing

Id like to know the reasoning behind that.

I think some of it is "eye test"
No doubt everyone respects and raves about LSU on the mound. Offense has been really rough and its been well noted
To be fair to Auburn they went 2/3 vs Bama, swept Kentucky, 2/3 Ole Miss on the road, and then won 2/3 vs Tennessee.
If the Kentucky one wasn't rained out we would have a lower winning % in SEC play. All our our SEC opponents outside of Auburn are at bottom of the conference. So I can kinda understand how Auburn would be ranked higher nationally, not sure about ranking inside the top 10 though
The fact that LSU scored 4 runs in 33 innings vs a below average Ole Miss team is I think a reason. We basically averaged less than one run a game and we played at home!!

Maybe they read our fans and think we're one of the worse teams in the country.
