The best way to go about this is to bring her and let her see what feels the most comfortable in her hands. I never recommend picking a gun for someone because if they don’t like it they won’t want to use it.

I agree with the two previous posters who suggested she pick her own gun but you should definitely steer her to something proven.
The shield is one of the most popular and proven single stack 9s on the market. Just make sure she practices a lot and if she’s a novice I’d advise she practice on a full size 9 first. After she gets meaningful reps with the full size it’ll be much easier for her to handle the smaller shield.
