It's like yall don't understand that the President doesn't write budgets.
He agreed to sign what he had to sign to get the military spending which was his priority. Should he have backed off on his commitment to the military?

No, he should have maintained his commitment to the American taxpayer, vetoed the bill then told Congress to get their asses back to work and reiterate what he required in the bill.
