I actually kind of agree with him. In reality, no, it's not a female-only issue. However, it seems to me that people/companies tend to treat maternity leave as strictly for the recovery and healing of the woman. I never see a company really care at all about the bonding time with the baby or the effort that is requiring in caring for it during the first couple of months. So yes, from the perspective of a company, I think it is viewed as a woman's problem and they therefore receive maternity leave. They don't tend to care that the father also needs that time to bond with the child.

In my opinion, fathers should receive 3 or 4 weeks of paternity leave at a minimum. New fathers have also been worthless sacks of shite at the office anyways due to the lack of sleep they get.
