This. It's why thousands of our men and women have been sacrificed in far flung places like Korea, Vietnam, Lebanon, Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq. It's why we have initiated coups in countries far too many to name for the last 6 decades. It's why we've devalued our currency and it's why we spend billions of taxpayer money each year to buy friendships with dictators whose populations want us to leave them the hell alone. It's this most basic of American political orthodoxies that make the Bush's and the Clinton's best friends. It's why the United States has long abandoned the warnings of our founding fathers and ceased to be a constitutional republic. Until the empire ends, the United States will never be a free society.
