Unless you mean employment in the state of Louisiana, in which case it's still odd but at least legal.

But typically Louisiana state employment means the state government. That generally means civil service. Where such a question would be illegal. And it might be true for an unclassified position, but then you would not be taking an exam.

So again, I think you are making this up OR more likely you are misunderstanding something.

I mean, you can believe whatever the frick you want. I actually came close to not posting this because it’s a public board, but it honestly bothered me. It was not a civil service employment test. CS tests typically are given at the beginning of the hiring process which I’ve already taken.
