I'm pretty sure if you sell something you make in Louisiana to someone who lives in Louisiana, you must charge sales tax. If you make something in Louisiana but sell to someone in another state and ship it there, no sales tax is required. I've done some reading on the subject and that's how I understood it. I could be wrong though, I don't claim to be any type of expert. Maybe someone else on here knows?

That is at best incomplete. It depends on the state. If anything selling only in Louisiana probably makes your life easier because you only have to comply with one set of rules.
