Guitar purists are a different breed of person. If Gibson does get bought out by a non-American company that $3000 turn into about $8000 in 5 years. That's the only reason I'm buying it. Real Les Pauls made in the 50's range anywhere from 25k to 500k and people pay for then.

Also, $3000 is pretty average price for an American built guitar these days, sadly.
