I live off Thompson Creek in East Feliciana. My uncle has prolly over 1000 pieces that he has found over the years from arrow heads to clay pipes. The area is know for its Indian artifacts.

Found a lot of cutting tools around the Catahoula Lake area. The ones we found were held in the palm of the hand, no handle. The shape and edge was a lot more refined than the piece you found. Having said that, the shape would probably vary with the age of the tool. My grandfathers pocket knife didn't look like the knives of today. It definitely looks like someone started forming an edge. But we found literally piles of partially made points and tools that broke wrong and were tossed.
